– Step-by-Step Guide
Stage 1: Sponsorship (Australian Host Organisation)
The Australian organization must become an approved Temporary Activities Sponsor.
Steps:
- Register online in ImmiAccount under “Temporary Activities Sponsor.”
- Provide details of the business, its legal registration, and its capacity to host training.
- Agree to sponsorship obligations (e.g., no charging fees from trainees for migration costs).
Required Documents (Sponsor):
- Business registration documents (ABN/ASIC certificate, company extract).
- Evidence business is actively operating (e.g., recent financials, letterhead, website profile).
- CVs of trainers/supervisors showing experience and qualifications.
- Details of facilities/equipment available for training.
- Signed acknowledgment of sponsorship obligations.
Stage 2: Nomination (Training Program Nomination)
The sponsor must nominate the trainee and provide details of the training program.
Steps:
Lodge nomination through ImmiAccount (after sponsorship approval).
- Select the correct training type:
- Training required for registration/licensing,
- Training to enhance skills in an eligible occupation, or
- Capacity building overseas (for overseas employers/government support).
- Attach a structured training plan with objectives, supervision, and assessment.
Required Documents (Sponsor/Nominator):
- Training Plan (objectives, weekly schedule—minimum 30 hours/week, assessment method, supervision details).
- Role/position description (must show training, not ordinary employment).
- CV of supervisors/trainers.
- Evidence of genuine need for the training (why the nominee requires this program).
- If applying under the "enhance skills" stream: nominee’s proof of 12 months of full-time experience in the last 24 months or recent relevant study.
- For "capacity building": a letter of support from an overseas employer/government (if applicable).
Stage 3: Visa Application (Applicant + Family if applicable)
The trainee applies for the visa after the nomination is lodged.
Steps:
- Create an ImmiAccount and start a subclass 407 visa application.
- Provide personal information, education, and employment details.
- Upload documents and pay the visa fee.
- Complete health examinations when the HAP ID is issued.
- Provide biometrics (in Nepal: at VFS Global Kathmandu) if requested.
- Wait for the Department of Home Affairs decision.
Required Documents (Applicant):
- Identity: Passport bio page, national ID.
- Education & Work: CV/resumé, qualifications (certificates, transcripts), reference letters, and work contracts/payslips.
- English proficiency: IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, OET, or evidence of functional English (depending on stream).
- Health insurance: Policy covering entire stay in Australia (must meet Visa Condition 8501).
Police clearance: From Nepal and any country where I lived 12+ months in the last 10 years.
