 SUBCLASS 482 VISA – DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

A. APPLICANT (YOUR) DOCUMENTS

 1. Identity & Personal Documents

  • Valid Passport (bio-data page + all used pages)
  • Passport-size photographs (recent)
  • Birth Certificate (if available)
  • Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
  • Name change documents (if any)

 2. Education & Qualification Documents

Academic certificates (Diploma / Degree / Training Certificates)

Academic transcripts

Professional training certificates (hospitality, technical, trade, etc.)

  • Trade certificates (if occupation is trade-based)
  • NOTE:  All documents not in English must be certified English translations

 3. Work Experience Evidence (VERY IMPORTANT)

You must prove your relevant experience for the nominated occupation:

  • Experience letters from previous employers (on letterhead)
    Must include:
    • Job title
    • Employment period
    • Duties & responsibilities
    • Full-time / part-time
  • Payslips (recommended)
  • Bank statements showing salary credits (recommended)
  • Appointment letters / contracts (if available)
  • Business registration + tax documents (if self-employed)

 4. English Language Test

One of the following (unless exempt):

IELTS/PTE Academic Score depends on the stream (Short-Term / Medium-Term)

 5. Skills Assessment (If Required)

  • Positive skills assessment from relevant Australian authority
    (Required for some occupations only)

 6. Health Documents

  • Medical examination (done after visa lodgement or when requested)
  • Chest X-ray & blood tests (panel doctor only)

 7. Character Documents

  • Police Clearance Certificate (PCC):
    • From your home country
    • From any country you lived in for 12+ months in last 10 years

 8. Health Insurance

  • Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC)
  • Must cover entire visa duration

 9. Family Documents (If applying with family)

For spouse:

  • Passport
  • Marriage certificate
  • English proof (if required)
     

For children:

  • Birth certificate
  • Passport
  • School documents (if applicable)

B. EMPLOYER (SPONSOR) DOCUMENTS

(Mostly handled by Australian employer, but you should be aware)

  • Sponsorship approval documents
  • Nomination approval
  • Employment contrac
  • Position description
  • Labour Market Testing evidence
  • Business registration & financials
  • Salary details (must meet market salary rate)

 EXTRA IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Documents must be clear, legible, and consistent
  • Dates must match across:
    • Experience letters
    • CV
    • Application form
  • Fake or inconsistent documents = automatic refusal
